What Is Microsoft Authenticator?

Microsoft Authenticator is a two-factor authentication (2FA) app that helps protect your accounts by requiring a second step of verification after you enter your password which can be one of the following methods:

  • A time-based one-time password (TOTP) code
  • A push notification you approve on your phone
  • LBiometric verification (like fingerprint or face recognition)
